Omari Hardwick, Robert Townsend, Lenny S. and More Awarded During BET Weekend

Icon Talks salutes black male excellence in the entertainment industry to kick off BET Weekend in Los Angeles. IconTalks is a nonprofit organization—founded by Mike and John Burns, John Hartsfield and Rudyard Hilliard—dedicated to identifying and working closely with icons in the entertainment industry such as musicians, professional athletes, CEO’s, actors, activists and more. Yesterday, the nonprofit partnered with Motion Picture Association of America for a private luncheon honoring the following icons: Harry Belafonte- Icon Lifetime Achievement Award Singer, Songwriter, Actor and Social Activist Robert Townsend- Icon Award Actor, Comedian, Film Director and Writer Omari Hardwick- Influenced Icon Award Actor, Poet and Artist Lenny S.- Icon Power Player Award Roc Nation SVP Kevin Fortson- Visionary Award Warner Horizon Televison SVP of Production Quincy Brown- Rising Star Award Actor, Artist and Philanthropist Each honoree has used their platform to give back to community and help to create opportunities for this new generation of talent. During his acceptance speech, Omari Hardwick, gifted his award to a fan that greeted him with tears prior to the luncheon beginning. An act like this speaks volumes to his character and further proves his deserving to be recognized as an icon influencer.
