Rae Sremmurd Private Album Release Party
Rae Sremmurd celebrates the release of their new album with a private meet and greet and concert at the iHeart Radio Music Theater in New York City.
The dynamic duo hit the stage performing radio bangers like No Type, Black Beatles and Swang. After a brief interview with Power 105.1 host EmEz, they continued the performance with songs from their new album titled "SR3MM". Giving rock star vibes, Rae Sremmurd hyped the crowd, danced and even made it rain to tracks like 42, Brxnks Truck, CLOSE, Buckets, Chanel and Rock N' Roll.
The album released Friday, May 4, is a three-part album featuring Rae Sremmurd then branching into solo projects from both artists. Swae Lee's project, "Swaecation", includes tracks Heat of the Moment, Guatemala, Lost Angels and more. "I was just taking them [fans] into a walk in my life. You know, just giving some good vibes. You take your bae on a vacation. I got Swae. I'm taking them on a Swaecation," Swae told EmEz.
While Jxmmi's project, "Jxmtro", was described by the duo as "kicking down the doe [door]." When the event's host, EmEz, asked about the meaning behind the title Jxmmi replied, "Mines [is] a double entendre," he continued, "It's a Jxmtro... It's the introduction to Jxm and it's the introduction to Tupelo. I'm from Tupelo."
The album is jam-packed with hits and features from hip hop heavy hitters like Future, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Pharrell and Juicy J. Additionally, actress Zoë Kravitz made her rapping debut on Jxm's track, Anti-Social Smokers Club. "The vibe was real chill, she [Zoë] a rock-star, actress, philanthropist, so many things so we came out with a banger," Jxm told EmEz.
Elsewhere in the conversation with EmEz, Rae Sremmurd added that they wanted to go to college one day in the very near future. While Jxmmi wants to get a business degree, Swae might be undecided. "I'm there to learn." Swae said, "Knowledge is power. I just want to get the most knowledge."
"SR3MM" is streaming on all music platforms and already climbing the Billboard Hot 100 and Hip-Hop and R&B charts with Powerglide at No. 25 and CLOSE featuring Travis Scott at No. 48.
